Important information
- Upload deadline: June 10, 2023, 23:59 hrs CEST
- For a possibility to upload your e-poster to the virtual conference platform you must be registered and must have paid your registration fee.
- If the presenting author of the abstract is not registered and therefore cannot upload the e-poster, the abstract will not be published in the electronic supplement of the European Journal of Human Genetics.
- To change the presenting author, please nominate a co-author (who is not presenting another abstract) and provide the following information via email to conference@eshg.org:
- Full name of new presenting author
- Personal e-mail address of the new presenting author
- Information on whether the new presenting author has already registered for the conference
- If you are unable to prepare and upload your e-poster, please officially withdraw from your presentation by sending an email to conference@eshg.org until May 10, 2023. Authors who do not notify the organizing office in writing ahead of the conference and fail to present their e-poster, will be banned from presenting an abstract at ESHG 2024.
Schedule for display
- Onsite in the Exhibition Hall from Saturday, June 10 (09:30 hrs BST) to Monday, June 12 (17:00 hrs BST).
- Online on the virtual conference platform for registered participants from June 8, 2023 until November 30, 2023.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the presentation at the conference is the condition for the publication of the abstract in the electronic supplement of the European Journal of Human Genetics. However, your presence onsite or online during the poster sessions is not required.
E-poster details
- Format: portrait or landscape
- Number of pages: maximum 1 (participants will be able to zoom in and out)
- File type: PDF
- File size: maximum 500 MB
- Font: do not use special fonts as these complicate the readability
- File name: presenter’s name and presentation number. To avoid any compatibility problems, please do not use special characters (e.g. «, Ö, Ø, ñ, ε, ®, ý, }, {, etc.).
- Do not use any passwords or encryption for your file.
- If you wish, you may include a QR code to a handout on the e-poster.
- The official conference language is English. Therefore, all e-posters must be in English.
- In compliance with EACCME regulations, authors are requested to disclose conflicts of interest on their e-poster.
- When presenting data and health information (including photos) all presenters must have informed consent compliant with human subjects and applicable regulations, and comply with GDPR.
- Note that your presentation will be converted to HTML5, making a download of the e-poster impossible. However, it is possible for the viewer to make photographs or screenshots of your presentation. If you do not wish any scientific content of your presentation to be photographed, please indicate this clearly visible on your poster.

How to upload your e-poster and add an audio commentary
- For the upload Google Chrome and Firefox are recommended.
- Follow this link and use your email address and personal password to login:
- If you have a completed and paid registration, you will see the “Presentation Upload” button. Click on it and follow these steps:
- For better engagement with participants we recommend to complete your profile and upload a photo. However, this is not mandatory.
- If you want to allow registered participants to send you messages, provide consent under “Permission to be contacted by ESHG participants”. Participants will type the content into a message field which will then be sent to your email. Your email address will never be shown in public.
- To upload your e-poster presentation go to “Content” and click “Start submission”:
- Accept or decline the terms and conditions.
- Upload your PDF file (this might take a few minutes).
- To enhance and/or emphasize certain aspects of your work, an audio commentary with a maximum length of 5 minutes can be added to your e-poster (this feature is optional). Click “Poster narration recorder or upload” to either record a commentary directly on the platform or upload a recording (*.mp3). Replay your recording to check if it works fine and click on next.
- Preview your uploaded PDF file and finish your upload.
- Until the deadline for your content submission you can go back to the presentation upload module and upload updated files.
- Your e-poster will be displayed on a dedicated page of the virtual conference platform. If applicable, an audio tool will be shown next to the poster for participants to listen to your commentary. If you provided consent, a message tool will allow participants to contact you with questions/comments/etc.
Presentation Certificates
Presentation certificates will be available for download to all abstract authors on the virtual conference platform one week after the conference. Please do not request certificates onsite, via phone or email.
